Roger was all business in his Round of 32 match against Feliciano Lopez. Looking sharp and healthy, Roger played aggressively and looked strong after battling through his first two rounds in five sets. The 3rd seed won the match 6-3, 6-3, 7-5.
"I'm really excited how I feel after two five-setters," the 19-time Grand Slam champion said. "It was clearly nice to go up two sets to love for a change. Feels different from there. I think now I'm just trusting my movement better. My serve is there. My mind is there. I can finally focus on playing tennis and not so much about the past."
Next up for Roger will be another ATP veteran, Philipp Kohlschriber.

Roger stepped on Arthur Ashe this afternoon to face veteran player, Mikhail Youhzny. Having never lost to the Russian before, Roger began the match confidently and took the 1st set quickly.
Ranked 101 on the ATP, Youhzny dug in and fought his way back taking the 2nd and 3rd sets. With the crowd behind the Swiss favorite, Roger took the 4th set as Youhzny began cramping as they began the 5th.
Noticeably worn down from the marathon of the match, Youhzny just couldn't keep up with Roger as the Swiss Maestro claimed the 5th set to move onto the 3rd round.
He will face Feliciano Lopez in the next round who he was beaten the 12 times they have faced each other.
Two GOATs come together in one shoe as Nike releases the 3rd iteration of the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour AJ3. An awesome collaboration between Michael Jordan and Roger Federer, the shoes feature the famed colorway of “Fire Red” which comes from one of the original Air Jordan 3 concoctions from the 1980s. Facing a feisty and confident young American, Roger took to Arthur Ashe Stadium for his first round match at the US Open for the first time in two years. Having played against Roger just months ago in Miami, Frances Tiafoe came out swinging big with no fear. With the roof closed due to rain, Tiafoe quickly broke right away and ended up taking the 1st set in front of the loud New York crowd.
Settling in and getting acclimated to the louder stadium, Roger broke in the 2nd set and remained steady to even the match. He looked like he was on cruise control after taking the 3rd set at ease, however Tiafoe wasn't ready to go home just yet as he battled back to take the 4th set hitting his targets confidently.
With the 5th set up for grabs, the two players battled into the night. The Swiss Star edged out the young American to take the first round 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4.
"I don't think I had the preparation I was hoping to get," Roger said. "Since Montreal, [the] focus has been more on the back, making sure I can play the tournament rather than being well-prepared. I always knew I was going to come in feeling rusty or not great. I was hoping to start better. I really struggled early on. I think Frances connected well. I just really kind of lost my footing sometimes. My eye wasn't working. I was misjudging distance. I think I was also being a bit cautious with my movement. Then in the second set I think it all started to come together."
2017 has already been such a magical year so far for Roger and he wants the opportunity to share some of his 2017 Wimbledon journey with his fans.
"In an effort to reach our goals with my Foundation, I wanted to share a part of my 8th Wimbledon title with my fans. Your support means the world to me."
