February 27, 2018 -- Monaco

Roger continues to collect awards as he received his 5th and 6th Laureus Awards Tuesday evening in Monaco. The ATP World Tour No. 1 was honored with Sportsman of the Year as well as Comeback of the Year.

These two awards make him the most decorated Laureus Award winner in history.

After taking a large portion of 2016 off from the ATP Tour, Roger came back in 2017 to capture 7 titles which included an Australian Open and Wimbledon as well as 3 ATP World Tour Masters 1000s titles.

"I'm humbled to stand in front of you and receive this award," he said during the ceremony. "The Laureus Foundation does amazing work. I have a foundation of my own and get inspired and motivated by what you do. Maybe one day, I'll be remembered for my philanthropic work rather than my tennis work."

February 18, 2018 -- Rotterdam, Netherlands

After already locking in the number one spot on the ATP earlier in the week, Roger captured his 97th title in Rotterdam.

Needing just under an hour to capture his 3rd Rotterdam title, the Swiss star put the pressure on Grigor Dimitrov. He played with confidence and blasted winners off both wings to demonstrating just why he is currently holding the number one rankin on the ATP Tour. Roger won the match 6-2, 6-2 to complete another whirlwind week for the Federer camp.

"It's definitely one of those weeks I will never forget in my life," said Roger. "It's unbelievable to get my 97th title and get back to World No. 1. It's very special."

February 16, 2018 -- Rotterdam, Netherlands

At 36 years old, Roger became the oldest man in history to take over the number one spot on the ATP. Yet another milestone captured by the Swiss star and celebrated by players, coaches and fans old and young.

Facing Robin Hasse in his Quarterfinal match, Roger just needed to clinch the win to take the number one spot, however Hasse was not going to make it easy. Hasse cam out strong and looked to pose a challenge for Roger after taking the first set. Unfortunately as the match went on, Hasse seemed to struggle with some health issues, even throwing up on the side of the court. But nothing phased Roger as ge settled in and showed the world why he is number one consolidating the win 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.

He surpasses both Andre Agassi and Serena Williams number 1 records and adds another accomplishment to his resume by holding the number one spot on tour as the oldest person.

“Reaching No 1 is one of, if not the ultimate achievement in our sport,” Roger said. “Sometimes at the beginning you just kind of get there because you played so well but later you have to fight for it and have to wrestle it back from someone who deserves to be there. When you are older you maybe have to put double the work in. This maybe means the most to me in my career.”

The tournament isn't over yet for Roger as he faces Andres Seppi in the semifinals.
